1988 Special Edition Explorer

Just purchased this canoe at a charity benefit. We sent the serial number to Mad River to see what they could tell us about it. It turns out it was a special edition made in 1988. We were amazed to find the exact canoe pictured in one of two old archived catalogs on the Mad River Web site. It has barely been used, but outdoor storage has degraded the gunwales. What a find!
